Your privacy in Fooz
Last updated 4 October 2026
What we collect
- Your phone number, so you can sign in. We keep it encrypted, and next to it a keyed hash of it (a code we make from the number with a secret key), so we can find your account when you sign in without reading the number. No other player sees it.
- Your nickname and the picture you choose, so other players see you in chat and on the board.
- A device ID: a random number the app makes the first time and keeps on your phone, so you come back to the same player. It is not Apple's advertising identifier and does not say who you are.
- Your answers, how long each took, and your points and rank in each show.
- Your progress: your points, level, badges, daily streak and wheel spins are kept with your account, so they stay with you.
- Chat messages you send, and reports you make or that others make about your messages.
- Connection details: when you connected and disconnected, and the app version, so we can fix connection problems.
- A fingerprint of your network address: a code we make from your internet address with a secret key. We never keep the address itself, and use the code only to notice several players connecting from one place, to keep the game fair.
- If you win a prize: we may ask for proof of your identity and of your residence in Kuwait, to hand the prize over, and we contact you on the phone number you signed in with. Only the Fooz team members who arrange prizes can see that number, and each time one of them looks at it, the time and the reason are written in a log.
What we do not collect
No email and no real name; your phone number is the only detail we need from you to sign in. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data.
Why
To run the show, score it fairly, keep the chat free of abuse, and fix problems. We use your phone number to sign you in and keep one account per person, and your points, levels, badges, streaks and spins so your progress stays with you. We also use the number to reach you if you win a prize.
Where it is kept
On Railway's servers in Europe (Amsterdam). Only the Fooz team that runs the shows can see it.
How long
Until you delete your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to support@playfooz.com, and we delete your phone number, your account and your progress along with the rest.
If an account under a suspension or a chat ban is deleted, we keep a keyed fingerprint of its phone number (not the number itself) until the suspension or ban ends, so it cannot be escaped by signing up again.
If you delete an account that used a friend's code, we keep a keyed fingerprint of its phone number (not the number itself) and nothing else with it, so the same number cannot use another code with a new account.
The sign-in code
You sign in with a code sent by SMS to your phone number. A licensed Kuwaiti SMS provider sends it, and receives your number so it can.
