Contest Rules for the Fooz App
Last updated 6 October 2026
1. Introduction
This page sets out the official rules for prizes in the Fooz app: who can take part, what the prizes are, how the winners of each show, each month and each season are decided, and how we contact them and hand their prizes over. These rules are read together with the terms of use and the privacy statement.
Playing Fooz is free. There is no entry fee for any show, nobody is asked to pay anything to take part or to receive a prize, and nothing for sale in the App affects points, the wheel's odds or prizes.
2. Who Can Take Part
- The competitions are for the State of Kuwait. Taking part needs an account created with a Kuwaiti phone number, and each person may have only one account, under Section 2 of the terms.
- The age requirement in Section 2 of the terms applies.
- To receive a prize, the winner must live in the State of Kuwait and prove their identity and their residence whenever we ask, and the prize is handed over in Kuwait.
3. The Prizes
- Prizes are given to the prize places of each show: its top 3 (first, second and third place), or more when the show names more places, up to the 30th. The month's prizes go to the top 3 players by the points they collected in each calendar month, Kuwait time.
- We announce each show's prizes in the App before the show starts: what each prize is, its value in Kuwaiti dinars if we state one, and a picture if there is one. A show may pay prizes for only some of the places, and a show's prizes may include prizes rolled over from earlier shows (Section 8, item 6). We announce the month's prize in the App too.
- Prizes are given according to ranking. They are not bought with points or exchanged for them, and points have no cash value.
- A prize may not be transferred to another person, and may not be exchanged for cash unless the law requires it or we say so expressly. Section 7 of the terms applies to all prizes.
- A sponsor may provide some of the prizes, and we name it in the App. A sponsor provides a prize only; it does not run the competitions or decide the winners.
- Prizes are also given to the top 3 players by the points they collected in each season, a calendar quarter in Kuwait time, as Section 6 sets out. We announce the season's prize in the App, as we announce the month's.
4. How a Show Is Ranked
- A show's ranking is set by the players' performance in it, according to the mechanics shown in the App. It rests on knowledge and speed, and chance plays no part in working it out: each question has a set time to answer, a right answer earns points, more of them the faster it is given, and a wrong answer, or none, earns nothing.
- The top players (ten, in a usual show) go through to a final in which a player who answers wrongly, or too late, is out, until one player remains: the winner of the show.
- The server, not your device, is the authority on when answers arrive and on how points are worked out.
- If a question turns out to be wrong or unclear, we may void it, and it then counts for nobody.
- If players tie for one of the first three places, the better player is the one with, in this order: the most right answers in the final; then the shortest total answer time in the final; then the most points in the main round; then the earliest to join the show; then the lower reference number of the player. We never use a draw or a random selection. The same order ranks every player of the show, so it settles a tie for any other place that wins a prize too.
- Only a player from whom the server accepted at least one answer in a show is a player of that show: only they are ranked in it, appear on its podium, and can win it or a prize for it. Someone who only watched has no place in it.
5. How the Month Is Ranked
- The month's ranking is set by the total points a player earned from the first day of the calendar month to its last day, Kuwait time, from all the activities in Section 5 of the terms, including the daily wheel.
- These are the points of your account. They are different from a show's points, which rank that one show and start from zero in every show.
- If players tie on points, the one who reached them first comes first. We never use a draw.
- If a player's play in a show is voided for cheating, that show's points are taken back from them, including in the month's ranking, so the month's ranking can change until the winners are announced.
- While a player's account is suspended, they do not appear in the rankings. A player whose account is suspended when the month's winners are decided is passed over for the month's prize, which moves to the next player in the ranking.
6. How the Season Is Ranked
- A season is a calendar quarter in Kuwait time: January to March (winter), April to June (spring), July to September (summer) and October to December (autumn). The first season runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026.
- The season's ranking is set by the total points a player earned from the first day of the season to its last day, Kuwait time, counted the way the month's points are in Section 5: what the month's ranking leaves out, including the points of a show that does not count, the season's leaves out too. The points of the daily wheel count in the season's ranking as they do in the month's.
- If players tie on points, the one who reached them first comes first. We never use a draw.
- The season's prizes go to the top 3 players in its ranking (first, second and third place). They are given by the ranking alone: they do not move to the next player because of the limit on show prizes in Section 8, and they do not count against it. The same player may win a show's prize, the month's prize and the season's prize, as the three are separate.
- While a player's account is suspended, they do not appear in the rankings. A player whose account is suspended when the season's winners are decided is passed over for the season's prize, which moves to the next player in the ranking.
- If a player's play in a show is voided for cheating, that show's points are taken back from them, including in the season's ranking, so the season's ranking can change until the winners are announced.
7. The Daily Wheel
- The daily wheel is free, and it is the only place in Fooz where chance plays a part. Chance never enters the result of a show.
- Each player gets one spin every day, Kuwait time, and one extra spin for each show they play (a show in which the server accepted at least one of their answers); the extra spin does not use up the day's. A show's extra spin can be used until the end of the calendar month, Kuwait time, in which the show ended; after that it is gone, so its points always count in the month of the show.
- The wheel gives points only, and gives no money and no physical prizes. Its points are added to your total points like any others, so they count in the month's ranking and the season's.
- The server picks the result of each spin at random, not your device. Before every spin the App shows the possible results and the chance of each, and the odds shown at the time of the spin are the ones that apply to that spin.
- The odds in force now are: 10 points (25%), 25 points (20%), 50 points (18%), 75 points (14%), 100 points (10%), 125 points (7%), 150 points (4%), 200 points (2%). The average spin is about 56 points, and results run from 10 to 200 points. We may change the possible results and their odds from time to time, and the App shows the new table before any spin.
8. Who Is Given Each Prize
A show's ranking in the App stays as it was played. Who is given each prize is worked out by the server with the rules below, the same way for every show.
- We go down the show's ranking from the top. The first prize goes to the first player who qualifies for a prize, the second to the second player who qualifies, the third to the third, and so on down to the last place the show names a prize for.
- A player is passed over, and the prize moves to the next player down the ranking, if any of these applies:
- their play in the show was voided for cheating or a breach of the terms;
- they finished the show with no points;
- they did not stay to the end of the show: a player in the final answered no question in it, and any other player did not answer the last question of the main round;
- they have not signed in with a phone number, so we have no way to reach them;
- they have already been given the most show prizes allowed in the period in which the show ended, as the next item says.
- No player is given more than one show prize in a Kuwait day, one show prize in a Kuwait week (Monday to Sunday) and 3 show prizes in a Kuwait month. Days, weeks and months are counted in Kuwait time, a week starts on Monday, and a prize counts in the period in which the show it was for ended. The month's prize and the season's prize are not counted against this limit.
- A player who is passed over keeps their rank in the show; only the prize moves on. If no player is left who qualifies, the prize is not given in that show: it rolls over to the next show that counts, as item 6 says.
- If a player's play is voided after the result is announced, we work the prizes out again on the new ranking, by the same rules, and a prize may move to another player.
- A show gives its prizes only if at least 20 players finish it. A player finishes a show if they stayed to the end of it (they answered a question in the final, if they were in it, or the last question of the main round, if they were not), they have points in it, and their play was not voided. Whether they have signed in does not matter for this count, nor do the limits in item 3: it counts the players who played the show to its end. If fewer finish it, nobody is given that show's prizes: each place's prize is added to the prize of the same place in the next show that counts, and the App says so when it announces that show's prizes. A prize that rolls over can roll over again, and the prizes of a show we cancel roll over in the same way. If enough players finish a show but no player is left who qualifies for the prize of one of its places, that place's prize rolls over in the same way, and the show's other places are given as usual. If a player's play is voided, or restored, after the result is announced and that takes a show under or back over the minimum, or leaves a place with nobody who qualifies or gives it a player who does, the show's prizes or that place's prize roll over or come back, and we work out again the prizes of the shows after it by these rules.
9. Reaching Winners and Handing Over Prizes
- We contact the winner directly on the phone number they signed in with, by a call or a text message, to arrange the handover. We may ask for proof of identity and of residence in Kuwait, and for any documents needed, before handing the prize over.
- We never ask a winner for money, for card details, or for the sign-in code that arrives by text message, before the handover or after it. If anyone asks you for any of these in Fooz's name, give them nothing and write to us at support@playfooz.com.
- We hand prizes over by hand, inside Kuwait, and how long it takes depends on the prize.
- If we cannot reach a winner, or a winner does not reply within a reasonable time after we have tried to contact them, we may withdraw the prize.
- Any objection to the results or the prizes must be submitted within 7 days of the announcement of the result or of the notice of the win, by writing to support@playfooz.com.
10. Cheating and Disqualification
- The prohibited conduct in Section 4 of the terms applies to the competitions, including using automated means, creating more than one account for the same person, playing on more than one device in a single show, and exploiting a fault in the App.
- If cheating or manipulation is established, we void the player's participation in the show, take back its points and withhold its prize, which moves to the next player under Section 8. We may also suspend the account or bar the player from playing, for a time or for good.
11. Changes and Cancellation
- We may change these rules and the prizes from time to time, and we announce any material change in the App and on this page, with the date of the last update.
- We may pause, cancel or rerun a show, and void its results, if a technical fault or an operating problem stops it being run fairly.
12. The Organiser and Apple
Fooz organises and runs these competitions. Apple is not a sponsor of these competitions and is not involved in them in any way.
13. Governing Law and Contact
These rules are governed by the laws in force in the State of Kuwait, and the competent Kuwaiti courts have jurisdiction, as Section 12 of the terms sets out. For questions about these rules, write to us at support@playfooz.com.
